Trip to Yamanakako - Fugaku Lava Cave and Narusawa Ice Cave

 Il est possible de visiter quelques caves formees grace a des poches d'eau pendant des coulees de lave. Ces deux caves fonctionnent en jumelage. Je ne me rapelle plus tres bien, mais il me semble qu'il est possible d'acheter un double pass. Il est possible comme moi de se procurer des coupons de reduction dans les hotels du coin.

La Fugaku Lava Cave offre une voute assez haute pour ne pas avoir de casque comme dans la Bat Cave. Il fait frais, voire froid. Je me repete mais par ces chaleurs estivales, c'est un veritable luxe. Au fond, on y voit ce qu'etait un garde manger.

 Quant a la Narusawa Ice Cave, comme son nom l'indique est emplit de glace. Bien entendu, en plein été, il ne faut pas s'attendre a une chambre de glace. Ici et là on trouve des glocs,comme a Fugaku. C'est en hiver que l'endroit est apparemment impressionnant.

Trip to Yamanakako - Fuji five lakes

Here are some details on the five lakes. First, 3 of them, Lakes Saiko, Shoji and Motosu were only one huge lake. They got separated by lava. Something I just learned and could experience a bit after, is the fact that some of them have a big hight difference. The most obvious case is between the Saiko and the Kawaguchiko because of the short distance.

Trip to Yamanakako - Saiko 'Iyashi no sato NENBA'

Pas vraiement a Yamanakako, plutot vers le Saiko, un autre des 5 lacs, Iyashi no sato NENBA est un village reconstitué en 2004. Il disparut suite a un glissement de terrain provoque par un typhon en 1966. Le village est maintenant un regroupement d'artisans et magasins/restaurants dans un cadre fleuri, propre et sans le surfait touristique qu'aime tant le Japon. Parking gratuit et entree de 300¥ c'est a mon gout tres raisonnable. Il y a beaucoup de villages reconstitues qui font payer tres cher ce morceau de nostalgie.

Le plus indéniable, c'est la vue imprenable sur le mont Fuji.

Trip to Yamanakako - Bat Cave

 

Bien entendu, les photos ne sont pas exceptionnelles.

Nous sommes pres du lac Sai (Saiko). On peut visiter plusieurs caves qui ont ete crees lors de coulees de lave. Celle-ce est habite par des chauve-souris. On n'en voit aucune. Cependant la visite est certes courte mais amusante. Certains passages ne font a peine plus d'un metre de hauteur. En plein ete, c'est agreablement rafraichissant. 300¥ l'entree.

With such a nice name, you can expect a very cute coffee shop. "Welcome" shows the board. So warm. It is also mentioned "Yamanakako Hirano shop". Maybe a chain coffee shop...

Trip to Yamanakako - Suspension bridge

I visited this place last year. This was another trip to Yamanakako. As I never uploaded the pictures, this is a good chance.
I usually don't prepare anything when I go out for driving. I just choose a road and drive slow enough to stop anytime. I usually let the cars behind me pass once they show too much impatience, sticking to my back too close for example.
So, the bridge just came up into my sight and I decided to stop to check.

 

The view is just great. Impressive enough for the kids... and my wife.

The bridge is part of a hiking course.

 This shop was selling some fresh tomatoes and cucumbers.

Perfect for a snack time.

Trip to Yamanakako - Michinoeki

End of the Summer. I went for a long week end to the Yamanaka lake, one of the five Fuji lakes. I took the Doushi road all along to the lake. In the middle, about, the visitor center: Michinoeki (map). A kappa looks over the place.

Umeboshi

 Unidentified Comestible Vegetable. A huge なす?

Before check in, we drove around the lake and get into the surrounding hills.
