Tanzawa Lake

Many camp sites, barbecue spots and riverside "beach"

Back to one month ago, I went to the Tanzawa lake. I like to pick up some area on the map and just go there, check and hope for a good surprise. Actually, there are so many place I want to share but once I start, I know it will take me hours to describe... I do not have this time lately.

Any way let's just begin. Heading to the Tanzawa lake by the 246, I had just one hint, a park that in fact did not exist. We had a picnic (personal recommendation as there are not so much shops) in the visitors' center, which is more like a nature center. Pretty well done and free. All the skeletons, bugs, animals are good fun for kids.

Then, we continue all around the lake. There is a small, relaxing, one way road. It might be great to ride your bicycle there. We climb the mountain along the Nakagawa 中川. Many ryokan, onsen and barbecue spots. One fun thing is this 45m tall tree. One of the hundred natural wonders of Kanagawa... amazing :)

It was good to see. Nice drive, but maybe not a place we will return. Especially I hate the way back. We always get stuck on the 246 around Hadano. A nightamare for a "Week end driver" like me.
