Nihao restaurant

Lately, we have a must-go restaurant. Everytime we go around Hadano to play and do some shopping around Jusco, Cainz... we stop by the Nihao Teishoku (Hello in Chinese - Restaurant) So this is chinese food and a good one. Cheap, they also have free refill of rice with their sets. This change from the KFC, Mc Donalds or other family restaurant when you do not want to make food.

Looks like you also can do parties, even New Year. This is all year round open.

Morinosato Shopping Plaza

Le centre nevralgique de l'arrondissement. A part ca, aucun commerce. Pas meme un コンビニ. Au 1F (RDC francais), le supermarche Sanwa qui, chose bien, propose des prix raisonnables et des discounts de fin de journee (10~50% off pour ecouler les produits frais) mais qui, chose moins bien, n'accepte pas la carte de credit. Il y a quand meme un ATM Yokohama bank au-dessus ouvert jusqu'a 21h. (le retrait coute 105¥ apres 18h en semaine, une arnaque a laquelle toute les banques s'alignent)

On trouve aussi au 2F, outre la Yokohama Bank, une Boulangerie-Patisserie, un salon de coiffure, un dentiste, une blanchisserie et un libraire. L'endroit est souvent desert malgre un amenagement ambitieux. La "terrasse de la foret" ou もりのテラス connecte Morinosato et Morinosato-Wakamiya grace a une passerelle. En traversant la passerelle, on rejoint donc les entreprises et l'universite en passant devant AMADAN, une salle de reception-restaurant qui vous fait aussi des mariages clefs en main. La vue donne sur Oyama et les convives doivent jouir de cieux colores en soiree.

九割そば - kuwari soba

Last week end I was driving on the one direction road which go through Doushimura 道志村 (Doushi-village) and I saw boards and flags showing そば and I stopped.

The river is clear and already few fishermen are on place. The visitor has to walk accross the river and can see the restaurant. Some exhibition hall and concert hall show that there must be some interesting activities around the place.

Anyway the restaurant looks recent, clean in its architecture and the opened windows let the fresh air coming from the river. The full japanese menu is small. Hot soba one one page, cold ones on the opposite. I choose the Tsuke-Ebiten-Soba (Shrimp tempura). Coming a bit late, some sets are not available anymore. I guess the handmade soba wre not fully ready when I order because it took a bit of time. Sitting on the terrace, it is pleasant to wait.

The shrimp is big, nice texture. Not like the ones that melt in your mouth because of the freeze. The handmade soba are good too. 1200¥ and taste really good. You have some soba-cha for drink.
